Circle of Security Parenting

This program has been designed to enhance attachment security between parents and children (aged 0 to 12). Decades of university-based research has confirmed that secure children have greater self-esteem, better relationships with parents and peers, enhanced school readiness, and an increased capacity to handle emotions more effectively. This is a reflective program that provides parents with immense opportunities to better understand themselves and the world of their children. Keeping Kids In Mind

(FOR FAMILIES EXPERIENCING SEPARATION)

Parenting after a separation can be challenging for most parents. Extensive research indicates that children do best after separation when parents are able to manage their conflict in a way that is mindful of the impact on their children and respectful of their co-parents role in their child life. This child centred program is designed to support parents experiencing separation to better understand the needs of their children. It provides a range of strategies that can be adopted by parents in order to minimise the impact of conflict on their children.

*A combination of DVD footage and facilitator lead discussion and practical activities. A work book is provided.

4- 5 sessions required

My Kids and Me

(FOR FAMILIES WHO HAVE A CHILD IN CARE)

A program for parents whose children have been removed and placed in out of home or kinship care. Parents in this situation can feel isolated and judged. Not only have parents lost their child but also their identity as a parent. This program is not designed to provide practical parenting strategies, but rather it aims to provide participants with an opportunity to reflect on their experiences in a non-judgemental environment and look at opportunities for change.

*A combination of DVD footage and facilitator lead discussion and practical activities. A work book is provided.

7 sessions required
