Federal Outreach – Free fresh fruit and vegetables.
Federal Outreach Far North Coast is another initiative of the Mullumbimby District and Neighbourhood Centre. Food Recovery rescues excess food from local supermarkets, cafes and restaurants that then provides healthy, nutritious meals and food parcels to community members across Far North Coast NSW free of charge.
At the end of the week there is usually food left over and Lynn Boland takes this food to the park opposite the Federal Store on Friday afternoon between 3pm and 4.30pm. All of community are welcome to access this free fresh food. Between January and June this year 587 people have accessed this service.
